We are finally ready to introduce Starlight’s NEWEST program! Presenting our SHOWSTOPPER COMPETITION TEAM!! We are so excited to add this to our offerings to t our families. Here’s how it will work. For four days over the Holiday Break followed by two brush up Saturdays before competition, students will rehearse and perform 1 BIG showstopper number to be performed at MTCA. Chelsea will choose the number after seeing who signs up for the camp. The choice will be age and skill appropriate based upon who comprises the team. Please understand that this will be a fast paced intensive with high expectations. Performers will be given homework and asked to work very hard. All performers will be provided the material to memorize at least one week prior to the first day of class. Most performers will be dancing, singing ensemble members while a handful of vocal solos will be handed out based upon skill and fit for the characters needed. There are only a few rehearsals to get the entire piece competition ready.

(There are only 5 1/2 rehearsals. If you cannot attend every single rehearsal please get Chelsea’s approval BEFORE registering)

REHEARSALS DURING HOLIDAY BREAK

  • THURSDAY DEC 21st 10:00AM - 4:00PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

  • FRIDAY DEC 22nd 10:00AM - 4:00PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

  • THURSDAY DEC 28th 10:00AM - 4:00PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

  • FRIDAY DEC 29th 10:00AM - 4:00PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

SATURDAY FINAL REHEARSALS BEFORE COMPETITION

  • SAT JAN 13th 12:00 - 4:00 Full Dress Rehearsal and Cleaning

    • Eat a good meal before rehearsing, pack a hearty peanut - free snack and a water bottle

  • SAT FEB 3rd 4:30 - 5:30

    • Note Spongebob cast will already be called that day from 12-5. Showstopper Performers not already in Spongebob are called to join the Spongebob cast to perform for each other from 4:30 - 5:00 then Showstopper performers will stay until 5:30 for last minute cleaning before comp

PERFORMANCES / COMPETITIONS (Attendance is mandatory)

  • Musical Theatre Competitions of America in Southern California Feb 8th - 11th *You will already be there!

  • Showcase Performance: Saturday March 16th (Times TBA but please plan that it will take all day including rehearsal and performance) *You will already be there!

You may be asked to supply specific shoes and/or basics such as plain leggings or tank tops. All costumes will be provided by Starlight
