Spring Semester Requires a $60 Recital Fee

Recital May 29th! (Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend)

The Recital Fee covers your tights (to keep), your recital tee shirt (to keep) and the rental of your costume. Yes, we said rental. Unlike other studios where you will pay a lot of money for each costume for each dance you do in the recital, we charge a one time rental fee no matter how many dances you do! This allows us to invest in nice, expensive costumes without charging you the expensive rates. Over time we will build a large collection of these high quality costumes to be used for years to come and you won’t be stuck with a closet full of expensive costumes that were each only worn that one time for 5 minutes. It’s a win-win!

Really want to keep a sparkly costume of your very own? Join our Dance Performance Team or talk to us about doing private lessons to develop your own solo. Both of these options include purchasing full costumes to be worn again and again at multiple events throughout the year.

YOUTH CLASS SCHEDULE

Parent & Me Classes

Parents join and participate heavily in this class. This is an introduction to music, dance, play and self awareness. We use a lot of props including ribbons, wands. parachutes, bubbles and gymnastics equipment to encourage exploration with a combination of free-play and circle time/across the floor activities.

Tiny tots (18 months and up)

Parents are present in this class to help with the goal of guiding students towards being ready to be in a class on their own. By three years old the goal is that students in this class can listen and engage with the teacher, take turns and has a more developed set of motor skills. To achieve this, we bridge between the free-play and exploration of Parent & Me and the discipline and structure of a ballet class for 3yrs+. Lots of props are used but we also engage in more circle time, dance activities and positions.

Covid safety

Starlight follows all Contra Costa Health Department mandates. Currently this means masks are required for everyone. Don't worry, we have been teaching kids in masks for a long time now, it works and can still be lots of fun. We take lots of breaks to step outside and spread out, take off masks or take a water break.

what happens if Starlight has to shut its doors for safety?

If at any point the Covid-19 situation worsens again, we will follow the guidelines set forth by the State and County and respond accordingly, if we have to close the in person classes for a while, all classes will continue uninterrupted via zoom. You can sign up with confidence knowing your classes will happen safely, one way or another.
