Presenting our SHOWSTOPPER COMPETITION TEAM!! We are so excited to bring back this to our offerings to to our families. Here’s how it will work. For 5 rehearsals spread out over Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break followed by a brush up rehearsal before competition, students will rehearse and perform 1 BIG showstopper number to be performed at MTCA. Bailey and Gemma will choose the number after seeing who signs up for the team. The choice will be age and skill appropriate based upon who comprises the team. Please understand that this will be a fast paced intensive with high expectations. Performers will be given homework and asked to work very hard. All performers will be provided the material to memorize a few days prior to the first day of class. Most performers will be dancing, singing ensemble members while a handful of vocal solos will be handed out based upon skill and fit for the characters needed. There are only a few rehearsals to get the entire piece competition ready.

(There are only 5 rehearsals. If you cannot attend every single rehearsal please get Bailey and Gemma’s approval BEFORE registering)

  • MONDAY November 23rd 11:30AM - 2:30PM

  • TUESDAY November 24th 11:30AM - 2:30PM

  • MONDAY December 28th 11:30AM - 2:30PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

  • TUESDAY December 29th 11:30AM - 2:30PM

  • WEDNESDAY December 30th 11:30AM - 2:30PM

    • Pack a hearty peanut - free meal and a water bottle

WEDNESDAY FINAL REHEARSALS BEFORE COMPETITION

  • WEDNESDAY FEB 3rd 4-6pm (Join the JR Comp Rehearsal)

    • JR Comp and Showstopper will rehearse together, performing for each other before leaving for comp

PERFORMANCES / COMPETITIONS (Attendance is mandatory)

  • Musical Theatre Competitions of America in Southern California Feb 4th - 7th *You will already be there!

  • Showcase Performance: Sunday January 24th

  • Energy Dance Competition March 5th - 7th Dublin CA (Time TBD block off the whole weekend) *If you are in Teen Theater going to MTCA or Jr Comp you will already be there!

You may be asked to supply specific shoes and/or basics such as plain leggings or tank tops. All costumes will be provided by Starlight

Tuition: $499

Competition Fees: $1850 *Please note that you do NOT have to pay for competition fees if they are already being paid for in JR Comp, Teen Comp, or Teen Theatre

JOIN US AT 15 CRESCENT DRIVE for all classes this FALL!

Starlight has officially moved out of our original studio space on Alhambra Ave in Martinez. While our new Performing Arts Center is still under construction, our amazing landlords have set us up at 15 Crescent Drive in Downtown Pleasant Hill .

Our staff has worked incredibly hard to turn this temporary space into a performer’s dream! With even more space then our original studio, 15 Crescent has three full time dance studios/rehearsal rooms and a cushy indoor lobby. Both of our dance studios are outfitted with Marley floors and mirrors and our third rehearsal room has a full stage! We will start our Fall Season at this space and then hopefully be ready to move over to our new home later this Fall!!
