STARLIGHT YOUNG ADULT THEATRE COMPANY is an audition only summer program held late July through early August. The program is open to students entering high school through 26 years of age. Unlike our school year programs for high school students, this company will deal with mature content. Performers will be held to expectations befitting a program for young professionals. Rehearsals will move at a fast pace and the material will be challenging and advanced.

Auditions are held in the Spring and video submissions are accepted through early Summer. All performers cast in the company will receive a script and audition sides. Auditions for roles will be held in June. Only members accepted into the company will be allowed to audition for roles. Every member accepted into the company is guaranteed to be cast in a role or the ensemble. Any performers wishing to join the company after auditions for roles have taken place may submit a video audition with the understanding that the only roles available at that time will be as ensemble members.

AUDITIONS

Step 1 AUDITION TO JOIN THE COMPANY.

You can either …

a) Audition in person Thurs May 19th or Friday May 20th Starlight Theater 6648 Alhambra Ave, Martinez. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Click here to sign up for an audition slot

Please prepare 2 contrasting 1 min songs from a musical (may be from Chicago) or one 1 min song and one 1 min monologue. Please bring accompaniment as a track on your phone or device. Live piano accompaniment will not be available.

b) Submit a video audition before Friday May 20th. (After May 20th we may continue to accept auditions via video submission if space is left in the Company but there is no guarantee) Click here for details

Step 2 ENROLL

If you are cast in the company your name will appear in the list at the top of this page, congratulations! Follow the link at the bottom of the list to enroll. Once enrolled you will be provided a script, music and sides. Tuition is $540, non-refundable. Need based scholarships are available.

Step 3 AUDITION FOR ROLES

Enrolled Company Members will attend callbacks Saturday June 11th 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Cast in the company but unavailable for in person callbacks? Don’t worry, you will be provided with an alternative to submit video material. Roles may be double cast. Cast lists will be posted here by the end of the day Sunday June 12th. Once cast, please memorize your role before the first day of rehearsals as we will be moving at a very fast pace.
